Bob Estremera adds to his homage to the Hungarian photographer Brassai.
"Of all the genres I shoot, none captures my own imagination more than New York City at night." says Estremera. He continues, "My inspiration came from seeing Brassai's work in his landmark work, 'Paris, de Nuit' or Paris by Night. Brassai's images are so evocative with beautifully sculpted light, shadow and texture." Bob continues his homage to the great artists 1933 work with fresh new images of his own, New York De Nuit. Estremera's new gallery additions include architecture and street life. All of it, of course, de Nuit.

"I fell in love with the Sleepy Hollow cemetery the moment I stepped inside," recalls Estremera. Sleep Hollow cemetery is the very graveyard featured in Washington Irving's classic thriller, 'The Headless Horseman'. And for black and white fine art photography, Sleep Hollow cemetery offers unique and distinctive photographic opportunities. "If you love the tones, shapes and textures of black and white photography as I do," says Estremera, "You will be knocked out to see how they combine with the physical elements of an 18th century graveyard to create a moody darkness reminiscent of your favorite Tim Burton movie classics." Photographer Bob Estremera visited Paris and documented his travels there before the recent and horrific tragedy that has befallen one of his most beloved cities. "Looking at my images before the attacks and now afterwards puts a new light on them", says Estremera. "Now, they represent to me the most poignant examples of why this great city represents a beacon of light, love and freedom as never before."
